ATTENDANCE AT THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Following the recent discussions about returning to school it is understandable that some staff members are anxious about ensuring that the appropriate preparations are in place.

It is imperative, however, that schools continue to observe the current health guidance.

As confirmed with the Department of Education today, the PHA guidance HAS NOT CHANGED and where teachers are not on a rota to support children in schools, they should only be in the building where there is AN ESSENTIAL BUSINESS NEED.

Any work which can be carried out at home must continue to be done there.

Meetings should continue to be carried out remotely.

Those in at risk categories, or who have immediate family in at risk categories, should remain at home. A process is in place to consult on and establish guidance on safe practices for the way forward.

Schools should not change their present practice until further guidance issues from this process.
